That's a just an unnecessary complication in your project. If you don't need to process a drum separately, you don't need to route it to its own track at all. You just put effects on those tracks to process the audio being routed from Superior Drums. For example you might want a different EQ on the kick than the snare. The only reason you ever need to route the output to separate tracks so that you can apply processing on those tracks independently. Recording its output is just making an unnecessary copy of those samples.
The entire point of a drum module is that it contains prerecorded audio of drums which you trigger on demand via MIDI. There is no need to record the audio from Superior Drums. I don't know what else to do at this point. You're thinking about this wrong.

So I think I'm just going to bite the bullet and change out the C drive to at least a 1TB SSD and move up to Windows 10. The problem is at the time I purchased it the SSD drives were expensive and I only got a 256GB. As I mentioned before I have a great Motherboard Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 with a 8 core processor running at 4 GHz. I've entered so many paths on the S1P4 VST list and no luck. How could it load as a Standalone but not be seen in Presonus. I go back and forth with Toontrack's support with no luck. In fact it says this is not activated on this computer. So right now on my Desktop I can get SD3 to work as a Standalone but Presonus will not see it.

When I went back to my original Windows 7 Desktop is when I started having SD3 problems. I purchased a very fast Windows laptop and installed SD3 on it and it works fine. So I sent the MacBookPro back, deleted the authorization from that computer because ToonTracks only gives you 2. It would not work with Catalina for some reason and Apple would not let me go back to Sierra.

I wanted a laptop to use also so I got a MacBookPro and it worked until it said it had an OS upgrade to Catalina and everything went to poop. This was the first computer I installed SD3 on and it worked fine.
Why I am having an issue with SD3 is a mystery to me. I have so many other Instruments (Modo Bass) AmpleGuitar), EZKeys and Effects,(total Waves package, IK Multimedia stuff, etc. My Desktop is running Windows 7 Ultimate, Processor is AMD 8 core 4.01 GHz, 16 GB Ram, 1 SSD 512 GB and a 1TB Western Digital drive.īoth Presonus and Toontrack are installed on the G drive. I am hoping someone on this forum can lead me in the right direction. (the 3.dll)ĭealing with the TOONTRACK people is fruitless and they take forever to get back to me. On my laptop that does run SD3 it doesn't do that either. I added that to my PreSonus VST page exactly but it doesn't let me put the 3.dll. I went into help in SD3 to find the VST path and it says:G:/ProgramFiles/Presonus/Studioone4/Plugins/VSTplugins/Toontrack/Superior Drummer/3.dll. SD3 runs as a Stand alone on this desktop with no issues so it's installed correctly. However each shows up under my Instruments as Toontrack Superior Drummer. I get an error when I try and load SD3, it says "This device is not installed on this system". On my desktop is a little older and has a 512GB SSD and a 1TB not SSD drive. One is my laptop it's all on the C drive which is 1TB SSD and I have no issues with either program. I will try not to be long winded on this one.
